June Smorgasbord

It has come to my attention from several family members who live in my house that I haven't updated the blog in some time. As you may have guessed, we are having an incredibly fun summer, and not much time to sit and blog about our adventures, so I will give a quick run-down of our June activities:

Kim graduated from junior high and received the President's Education award for recognition of outstanding academic excellence with an overall GPA of 3.7 during her junior high years. We are proud of her hard work.

She also enjoyed her ninth-grade dance:

 Alicia did her hair:
Actually, Alicia did the hair for Kim's friend Kylee too:

John and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary with a day out together.
We enjoyed the Asian Festival with deliciouso food and these Japanese drummers:

We also attended an organ recital at the LDS Tabernacle:

We've been enjoying our Lagoon season passports.
Megan is now tall enough to do a lot of the big roller coasters with us.
Is she scared? Not in the least.

My sister Shannon was in town for a few days and we took her to Lagoon.
Shannon and Megan:
After Rattlesnake Rapids:
We didn't mind. It was a terribly hot day, so it felt great.

Before Lagoon:
they were out taking selfies while I madly put on the final touches to my story so we could head out

Kim and I also went rappelling and mountain climbing to pass off some of her girl's camp requirements.

Here's Kim:

 ...and me:

We have been enjoying time with the Nelson cousins who are in town:

 Pineview

We have been spending a lot of time in the water - at the lake, splash pads, neighbor's pools, and our backyard sprinklers - as we have been having crazy hot temperatures of late:

We attended an Ogden Raptor's game with John's family:

Alicia caught one of their freebie balls:

...and Megan got a hand:

And we did the YMCA:

We also went and saw the new Pixar movie "Inside Out" as a family in these cozy recliners:

I love that my kids are all at fun ages - we don't have to worry about nap times - they have plenty of friends to play with - and we are having a blast on all of our adventures. The summer is simply going by way too fast, but we have many more adventures that have yet to be enjoyed, so thank goodness we are only a third of the way through the summer.
