It was a Lovely Week

We had a birthday last week!

Natalie turned eight.
Kimberly and Natalie decorated the cake - isn't it beautiful?
I used to decorate cakes back in the day, but I love that the tradition has moved on to my girls.

There is no shortage of silliness in our house.
Apparently they were taking selfies while Alicia and I did this...

Natalie got a desk for her birthday.
It is the perfect size and color for her room.

Cute, huh.

Most importantly for the week, Natalie got baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints last Saturday.

It was a lovely day spent with family and friends.

In other news, I have am now the proud owner of two business cards.

I finally got tired of telling people I didn't have any cards when they kept asking for them with my stories for the Standard-Examiner (since I am a freelancer, they don't do that for me), so I finally bit the bullet and got some cards made. It's the one on the right, and they have come in handy on many occasions since landing in my purse.

The card on the left is my new gig.
I didn't even have to make the card - my boss made them for me!
In addition to my work with the Standard Examiner, I am now working as a freelancer for a small marketing company. I've written all sorts of fun things this past month - news releases, blog postings (yes...I actually get paid to blog!! Who knew that could be so much fun!!), and articles for companies. More fun is yet to come and I love that I get to use my marketing and public relation skills I haven't used in years.

Here's to new adventures!!

Natalie is Getting Baptized!

This cute gal is getting baptized next week, so she and I took a trip up to the Ogden Temple today to get some pretty shots in her baptism dress with all of the flowers.

In other news, Kimberly just finished her performances at her school in the musical Annie Get Your Gun. She had a lot of fun with it, but it was a lot of work, so she slept a lot when it was all said and done.

Alicia made it onto the track team doing the 200 meters, and is working on the high jump.

During Spring Break, we checked out this cool dart place -

and then we spent the weekend listening to conference - obviously Megan and Natalie were enthralled :)
