Still Going...

The leaves are relentless here!!
After spending several hours Saturday afternoon raking, we got a whole new crew of dead leaves in the yard on Sunday.

The kids weren't complaining - they just raked up more leaves into a huge leaf pile and enjoyed themselves.

And on a total side note, I had a brief foray into broadcast journalism last week.  I showed up to a story, where the videographer told me I needed to be in front of the camera asking my questions.  Good thing I didn't show up in my exercise clothes and hat, like I'm known to do for some of my early-morning stories.  I get a good chuckle watching because I am so out of my comfort zone!  I much prefer being behind the scenes.

If you want to check it out and giggle along with me, click here and it will bring up the video:

We're going to be busy this weekend...

Or rather, the girls will be busy :)

From acorns to leaves (and trust me, this is only a quarter of the leaves)...

October Fun

We've had a fun month with lots of activities.
We made it up to the Rimingtons for the annual Halloween Party.

The grandkids:

We celebrated Megan's 4th birthday.

For the first time ever, I was caught without candles, so Alicia rescued us with her stomach-looking candle she made at school.

Kimberly and Alicia offered to make her cake - their version of the Little Mermaid.
It turned out way cute, and I didn't have to do it - Bonus!

We enjoyed the Black Island Farms again, this time with Justin, Heather and Teagen.

Don't these two brothers look oh-so-comfy?

 Horsing around at the farm.

Kimberly earned her Young Women's Medallion, a really big deal, having spent 80 hours working on projects.  It is the LDS Young Women's version of an Eagle Scout.

John and I also had a fun last -minute getaway weekend last Friday night, thanks to loving family willing to take on our crew.  Alas, no pictures, but suffice it to say, it was a much-needed relaxing weekend up in Ogden Canyon.

Go Aggies Go!

We made it to a Utah State Football game last weekend.  They played BYU.  It was a sad, sad game.  We lost.  Miserably.

However, we still had a great time.  Even when it got really cold.  We had lots of warm blankets, our winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves...

Oh, and finding our seats was an adventure too.  The game was sold out, and of course our seats were in general admission, just like everyone else, so we had to claw our way amongst numerous other fans trying to get a seat before the game started.

We finally got settled, and enjoyed rooting for our alma mater.

In other news, Megan and I are enjoying the warm weather.  (we won't even talk about the 1-2 inches of snow we had in our yard last week.  just disgusting.)

We decided to go feed the ducks yesterday.  Apparently, not too many people are out feeding the ducks in October, because the ducks were swarming us!

Megan had to seek reprieve on the park bench from the quacking herd.

The two of us have a lot of fun together while the other siblings are at school.  I am already dreading when she starts preschool next year (a very drastic change from when the other girls were nearing preschool.  I definitely get it when other people talk about their youngest child - there is something about seeing how fast the time goes by, and knowing they are your last).

...and just so you don't think I only love Megan, here are some pictures of the other girls...

Yup, typical teenager.  On the phone with her friends all the time now.
